Does Your Dog Need More Than One Bed?

Does Your Dog Need More Than One Bed?

There is no right or wrong answer! While traveling in Argentina for three weeks, I saw dogs living in beautiful homes without a bed—just sleeping on the ground. And trust me, these dogs had the best life! On the other hand, Fritz has three of his own dog beds throughout our home—one in the bedroom and two in the living room. He also sleeps on the couch, chairs, and even with us in bed. He’s a very spoiled guy.

Why Multiple Beds Can Be a Good Idea

One thing we find important is giving Fritz his own "do not disturb" time. Just like us, when dogs sleep, they don’t want to be interrupted. As much as we love to cuddle them, they deserve their own space to rest peacefully. They’re not stuffed animals, even if they sometimes look like them!

Some dog owners achieve this with a crate, which can be a great solution when done with proper crate training. This takes patience but can pay off in giving your dog a safe, secure place of their own.

We noticed that Fritz naturally seeks out his "do not disturb me" time by going to our bedroom earlier than we do. Having multiple resting spots means he can always find a quiet place to relax.

The Benefits of Having Multiple Dog Beds

  • Creates a sense of security – Your dog will always have a designated space to retreat to.

  • Reduces wear and tear – Rotating between beds can help them last longer.

  • Matches different areas of your home – Beds can fit into different rooms, crates, or cozy corners.

  • Easy to wash and maintain – Our dog beds are machine washable and fit into most spaces effortlessly.

We love switching up the beds from our collection because they’re so easy to maintain and fit perfectly into corners and crates. Check out our Fritz Bed for more information!
