How to Choose the Best Collar for Your Dog
A collar needs to fit your dog comfortably and stay secure during everyday walks. Start with their neck measurement, then compare the width, fastening and material.

Measure your dog's neck
Measure where the collar will sit, allowing room for two fingers. Compare that measurement with the adjustable ranges:
- Small: 26–36 cm neck range, 1.5 cm strap width.
- Medium: 36–47 cm neck range, 2 cm strap width.
- Large: 41–59 cm neck range, 2.5 cm strap width.
Some ranges overlap. At 43 cm, both Medium and Large cover the measurement; choose the width you prefer. Necks below 26 cm or above 59 cm fall outside our current sizes. Check the fit when the collar arrives: it should not slip over your dog's head.
Choose a material for everyday walks
The Fritz Collar uses PVC-coated nylon. Its waterproof surface wipes clean after muddy walks. Follow the care guide for cleaning instructions.
Check the buckle and fit
The clip buckle opens and closes for everyday wear. After fastening it, check that it is fully closed and that the collar is adjusted correctly. Recheck the fit as your dog grows or their weight changes.
Inspect for wear
Check the strap, buckle and attachment ring regularly. Replace a collar if its fastening or material is damaged. There is no single replacement interval that suits every dog's use.
Choose your color and size on the Fritz Collar product page, or compare the measurements in our size guide.
