THE FRITZ COLLAR

Find the right collar fit

cm
Where the collar sits, with room for two fingers.
  1. Measure around the neck. Use a soft tape where the collar normally sits. No tape? Use a piece of string, then measure it with a ruler.
  2. Leave room for two fingers. Measure with that comfortable space included. Don't add the allowance again.
  3. Match the range below. Choose a size that includes your measurement, then compare the strap widths.

Breed examples at a glance

A starting point for adult dogs. Always measure first: dogs of the same breed can need different sizes.

Small · 26–36 cm
Jack Russell, Miniature Dachshund, Shih Tzu, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Miniature Schnauzer.
Medium · 36–47 cm
Beagle, French Bulldog, Cocker Spaniel, Border Collie, Corgi.
Large · 41–59 cm
Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Boxer, Dalmatian.

Choose by neck measurement, not breed alone. Necks below 26 cm or above 59 cm fall outside our current sizes. For a Standard Dachshund, measure before choosing Small.

Between two sizes?

Some ranges overlap. At 43 cm, for example, both Medium and Large cover the measurement; Medium has a 2 cm strap and Large a 2.5 cm strap. Choose your preferred width while staying within the stated range.

Check the fit when the collar arrives: it should not slip over your dog's head.

Product FAQs

How do I clean the strap after a walk?

The PVC-coated nylon webbing is waterproof. Wipe with a damp cloth or rinse with water, then leave to air-dry.

PVC-coated nylon or biothane: what’s the difference?

Both are coated webbing: waterproof, easy to clean, no smell. Biothane is a brand of TPU-coated webbing. Our webbing is PVC-coated nylon, in eight colourways, at a friendlier price. In daily use they behave the same. Compare the two materials.

What if two sizes fit?

The ranges overlap: at 43 cm (17 in) both Medium and Large fit. Medium has a 2 cm (0.79 in) strap, Large 2.5 cm (0.98 in). Pick the width you prefer and stay inside the range. The collar should not slip over the head.

How long does it last?

Customers tell us they’ve had the same set for five years and came back for a new colour. Coated steel D-ring, a sturdy clip buckle, and webbing that keeps its colour and rinses clean, walk after walk.

How do I choose the size?

Measure the neck with room for two fingers, then choose an adjustable range that includes your measurement. The size guide beside the options walks you through it.

Can I choose by breed?

Breed examples are a starting point. Always measure first: two dogs of the same breed can need different sizes.

Do I need to choose a leash size?

No. The set has one leash, 0.79 in wide . You only choose the collar size.
